  This school may not be perfect, but to be fair, nothing is. It has its ups and downs, just like everything else. However, I feel that the ups severely outweigh the downs. I am enjoying it here a lot more than I thought I would. I read some other reviews, and I have to disagree with the majority of them. The staff here is fairly kind and reasonable. Most of them are pretty chill and/or understanding and are only strict when they need to be. There are a few teachers/staff who are ridiculous, but every school has that. The teachers here obviously care for students and their educations. They are here for you when you need them to be. Ask for help, and I can guarantee that at least 95% would not hesitate to go out of their way to help you. Some other things: Bullying. This is a problem that occurs everywhere. It happens on the internet as well as in every school across the globe. And to be honest, I have seen very little to no bullying here at all. Compared to other schools I have been to, this place is pretty much paradise. Obviously I can't speak for everyone. There is bullying. But the majority of problems comes from starting something with someone. There are fights here. People do beat each other up, but this usually stems from having personal problems with somebody, not a result of bullying. Not victim and perpetrator. There are also likely drugs here. It is true for Mauldin High and it is true for every school. Do not refrain from sending anyone here because of that. Compared to other schools, there are not many issues. I do recommend you send your kids here. It is actually a very good place to be. I'm only a freshman, but I honestly love this place. It is a nice place to be as long as you stay out of trouble. If you are being relentlessly bullied and targeted, then there are guidance counselors. And they are very good at what they do. The hardest part is asking for help. Once you do that, the stress and sorrow will likely fade away. Just one more thing: drama. This is present in Mauldin H, but it is also widespread everywhere. You see it daily on the internet, with celebrities, in person with friends and enemies. It happens and it's natural. It is not a reason to keep someone from school. This school is a very good school. Not perfect, but much better than others. I fully recommend it and I applaud it for doing what it does so well.
